Electron Heating System

ITL is presently developing an original modification of the Flash Method ASTM E1461 (electronic heating, direct measurement of heat flux to the specimen) for measurements of thermal diffusivity, conductivity and capacity in thin specimens and coatings in-situ on substrates and non-destructively. The thermal physical measurements can be performed on one side of the specimen non-destructively using the heat waves technique.

Electron Heating System

  • Thickness of the specimens: 0.1µm - 1 cm
  • Temperature range 100 -3000 °C
  • Independent measurement of thermal conductivity, diffusivity, capacity on the same specimen is possible
  • Gas environment: inert gas, vacuum
